Rescue Me ID: 14-07-19-00068Rocky (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Hi Hi! My name is Rocky and I am just a big happy puppy looking for a home to call my own. The woods where I was abandoned was scary and lonely. But a nice lady came for me and now I'm living with other dogs that look like me. Rocky is about 5-6 months old and still has some baby teeth to lose. Male, docked with natural ears. He is up to date on vaccines and will be neutered and microchipped before adoption. He is a chunky pup weighing 50lbs. Very healthy with a beautiful coat. He knows basic commands but is a bouncy baby boy who will need continued training to work on manners. He is a quick learner with good motivation. Very good for car ... (Read More)rides ,crating, and is house trained. He is happy to meet new people ,including older children, and will snuggle and give lots of kisses!! He is a bit shy of other dogs at first but warms up quickly and will play. He is not familiar with cats and will ignore them unless they hiss. This will only get them a bark back. He is a rough and tumble player who is teething and likes to mouth play. He is currently receiving obedience training to help with this but he may be too much pup for very small children right now . Rocky is a typical Dobe and likes to be where his person is. He will make a great loyal friend. If you are interested in Rocky you MUST fill out an Adoption Application @ www.dvdpa.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-06-00060Lonnie (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

I'm just a lonely boy, lonely and blue. I'm all alone with nothing to do. But all I want is someone to love. Well, that WAS my life. Hi, my name is Lonnie and I'm still a baby at 9 mos old. When DVDPA received the call about this boy at Hillside SPCA and heard his story, we knew we had to take him in. He lived his life basically in a crate when he was in the house or tied when he was outside on his small patio. And to make matters worse, there was a 20 foot drop to the Susquehanna River at the edge of the patio. What a life, huh? No more!! He is in a foster home now and learning that there is more to life than what he had. I'm a big boy ... (Read More)already at 80 lbs. I definitely will need training to learn my manners. Hey, I'm smart, how hard can that be. I like to play with the other dogs and can get carried away with not wanting to stop. Can you blame me. I had no one to play with before. Not sure how I would be around small animals, haven't spent much time with them. Since I am a big boy and can get mouthy with playing or wanting your attention, any children in the home should be older, preferably teenagers. I am neutered, up to date with my shots and microchipped. I love to go for car rides. Who wouldn't, so many places to see and go to. Would you like some company? If you are interested in me you MUST fill out an Adoption Application @ www.dvdpa.org and put my name in the comment section. (Less)

Animal ID: 2014-011Layla (female)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Layla is a 4 1/2 year old, female, black and tan Doberman, surrendered to us by her owner who adopted her from a breeder at six months of age, although she came to us with no documentation. We were told she was high energy, however in the few weeks she's been with us, we have not seen that, in fact, she is a very mellow, low key, happy go lucky, affectionate young lady. Layla is ready for her 'Fureverhome,' she is happy when her humans have lots of time for her, she enjoys playing on her own, but also likes to play Frisbee and with her Hartz dura Play football. Layla knows her basic commands but we do ask ... (Read More)she take an obedience class to brush up and bond with her new family, she is walking better on her leash but still needs a little work, she sleeps all night in her crate with the door open and often just goes there to relax if you're busy or will lay on your feet. Layla loves people, meets and greets everyone we've tested her with. She has, after about a week, befriended a senior female Dobe, and she will play and kiss her through the doggie gate, but she's still unsure about meeting her face to face, she seems intimidated by large, active, playful Dobe's and also has shown to have a small prey drive. Layla has had her wellness exam, has been updated on all her vaccinations, is spayed, micro-chipped, heartworm and Lyme negative, her blood work and fecal float were negative, has a slight but well maintained incontinence issue, she is taking Proin to control her bladder and it's working with no issue, we have actually been able to cut her dosage in half over the last few weeks and she can hold it for most of the day if necessary. Layla is taking her monthly heartworm preventative and getting Frontline Plus for her monthly flea and tick preventative too. Layla is a lovely Dobe, needs to be surrounded by love and attention, and she'll give you all that love in return and then some, a super sweet soul. Anyone interested in adopting Layla, please send your email request for an adoption application to FureverhomesDobermanRescue@outlook.com. Please keep in mind we can only do this because of all of you, we are a donation based Doberman rescue. If you are able to consider a tax deductible donation for Layla's vetting and care, that can be made several ways, we accept checks, those may be sent to Fureverhomes Doberman Rescue, Inc., P.O. Loves to run and play and has had some obedience training. He is UTD on all shots. We have had Cooper for over a month now and our dog is just not warming up to him. She is a super smart and very sweet girl who just needs a little bit of work on a few of her obedience skills.
