Rescue Me ID: 16-07-18-00577Franco (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Hi there! I'm a cropped and docked young red boy. I do have energy since I am young but I am well behaved. I love everyone I meet. I have met many dogs of all age, sizes and gender and always behaved liked a true gentleman. I have also met cats and horses too! I have to admit, I'm interested in cats because I think it would be fun to play with them. Unfortunately, they must think I'm too big so I get disappointed when they don't play with me. I bark at them to encourage them to play, but that doesn't seem to help. I have also been around horses and do respect them. I don't understand why they eat hay and grass so sometimes I get ... (Read More)mesmerized by them eating. Oh, and I've met chickens. I really don't know what they are or what they are suppose to do, so I just ignore them. They don't look like too much fun. One of my favorite things is going on long walks with my foster mom. We walk on trails through woods and fields. We walk on these trails a lot so I get lots of exercise! I just get so happy to run around and explore. We get to see all kinds of thing like bike riders, runners, horseback riders and other dogs. I really want to greet everyone, but learning that I don't need to go up to everyone. I have to share that I am not a fan of water. Nope, not at all! I will do everything I can to avoid getting my feet wet! I even walk on the rocks when crossing the tiny littlestreams we cross. Ugh, don't like that feeling on my feet! These little streams are only 2 - 3 inches deep, and I still don't like them. To be honest, I don't even like wet grass touching my feet. But don't worry, I am really fine with baths and will stand completely still for them because I do like to smell good! My foster mom calls me a big love bug! I am not sure what that means, but I think it's a good thing! I love to cuddle. I love people so much that I do get excited and sometimes jump up on people. I realize that's not acceptable behavior, but I can't help myself sometimes. I am really working on controlling my excitability and I must admit I've gotten a lot better! My foster mom takes me to all kinds of fun places'|like pet food stores. Of course everyone falls in love with me. I know it's because I'm just so handsome! I am very well behaved when meeting new people. I impress them with my wonderful manners, and of course my good looks! I know basic commands sit, stay and recall. My foster mom works with me and I really enjoy learning new things. I'm still young so it's hard to concentrate when something like a butterfly goes by, but I've gotten really good at resisting the urge to go say hi to it! I'm also house trained and crate trained. Even though I'm young, I don't chew things either. I love lots of toys! Yup, the more toys the better! At least in my mind! I love playing with my foster sister. She's young too, so we have lots of fun. We play hard and have so much fun! I've tried to play with much older dogs, but they tell me to go away and I do. I am respectful of them. I am so happy all the time! The world is an amazing place that I love to explore! I love getting my exercise, but also love to cuddle and give kisses. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-18-00573Star (female)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Puppy

Hi there. My name is Star and I'm a five (5) month old black and tan female. I am docked with natural ears. My foster mom says I'm really smart! I learn things really fast. I can be a little cautious with new people but I'm getting better and better every day. I am good with other dogs I meet. I'm curious with cats. I try to smell them to figure out what they are, but when they turn around and look at me, I get scared and back off. I've been around other dogs and very happy to play with them. I play really well with my friend who is an eight (8) week old Labrador puppy. I even let that little puppy lead me around with my leash. I ... (Read More)love going on long walks. My foster mom takes me on trails every day. I get to go with my foster sister and brother. I have so much fun running through the fields and trails. My foster mom has taken me to several pet stores and I am very good at greeting people. Everyone thinks I'm so cute! I do agree with them! I do like visiting these places because I get treats from everyone. By the way, I LOVE treats! I am really good in the crate. I am mostly house trained but am working on it. I do get excited and sometimes jump up on people, but I do settle quickly. I do have really good manners for my age, but will keep working to remember not to jump on people. (Less)

lnteresting Doberman Pinscher Trivia Low-Cost Pennsylvania Spay & Neuter Clinics
Doberman Pinschers were first bred by a German tax collector named Louis Doberman. Dobermans are a relatively new breed dating only to the 1860s. Dobermans cannot work in areas where it gets very cold in the winter. White Dobermans share a gene with white tigers and white lions. In rare cases, Dobermans can develop Dancing Dobermans disease, a type of peripheral neuropathy.
