Rescue Me ID: 15-01-12-00084Otto (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Hey, have you taken a look at my pictures? Cute, right! How can you not want to come meet me. My name is Otto and I'm still trying to figure out what life is all about. I was living with 2 other playmates but they just didn't have my energy. All they wanted to do was lay around and sleep. I can't do that. I need to get out and run around and play. My people thought it better if I found a home that could meet what I needed. 'Someone who likes to go for walks, run around out in the yard and play, maybe even go on play dates. But I do need to go to obedience training and maybe find a hobby. Not sure what but we ... (Read More)can figure it out. One thing though, I'm not to keen on young children. Not sure why they bother me, but it would be best if I went to a home with older children. If you're interested in wanting to meet me, don't forget to fill out the application. I know, paperwork. Go to www.dvdpa.org and click on adopt then application. It's all done on-line, so that's not to bad. I hope I get to meet you soon (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-12-00082Bongo (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

See how nice I sat for my picture. Pretty good for only 7 mos old. I don't know everything they want me to do but I'll get there. They said I need to go to school. Not sure what that is about but it sounds like fun. I like to play with the other dogs here in my foster home. So maybe when I go to school, I'll make some new friends. I was told that I'm different but I don't feel like I am. My head tilts a little and if I don't pay attention to what I'm doing, I knock myself off balance. Doesn't bother me, I get right up and keep going. So, if it doesn't bother me, hopefully it won't bother you. If you want to ... Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Axel is just under one year old. His owner placed him in rescue due to working long hours and household changes. He's a loving guy who would enjoy a new home with plenty of room to run and receive lots of attention.

Animal ID: 2015-001Major (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Major has just arrived at FDR! He is a handsome, 2 year old, born 1/14/13, a neutered male who is said to be good with children and other dogs, and he is a more spunky player. He is settling in well tonight with his foster family and we already know he needs some help with his manners and commands, but he loves the outdoors. We will be scheduling Major for his wellness exam on Monday and updating his bio soon! Major will be available for adoption very soon and will make a wonderful new addition to a family with a fenced in yard and time to play, he is very much still a puppy. Anyone interested in completing an adoption application for Major ... (Read More)or any of the many other Dobermans in our program, please send your application request to FureverhomesDobermanRescue@outlook.com. If you're not able to consider fostering or adoption perhaps you would like to kick off the new year with a donation to help the many Dobermans FDR will need to vet and prepare for their 'Fureverhomes' this year! Donations can be made several ways, we do accept checks, those may be sent to Fureverhomes Doberman Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 298, Bath, PA, 18014-0298, through PayPal at https://www.paypal.com/ by clicking the send money tab from your account and using our email address, FureverhomesDobermanRescue@outlook.com, the Donation Application is always here on our Facebook wall just to the left or by using this link which is also mobile friendly: https://www.facebook.com/FureverhomesDobermanRescue/app_117708921611213, and we will be launching our 2015 fundraising campaign on YouCaring.com this weekend. Animal ID: 2014-045GiGi (female)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

GiGi, came to us here at FDR on Sunday 12/14/14, she has just turned one year old, is black and tan with natural ears and a docked tail; she is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. We have had a few days to get to know this wonderful young girl and we are happy to share that she is now available for adoption! What we have learned is that she is lover, a very sweet, young and sensitive girl. We have been working on commands, she knows 'sit' and 'off', and we've been working on 'down', 'stay' and 'look' and she has good focus, she's already learned to sit and wait for her food bowl to be put down and focus on your eyes, waiting for the ... (Read More)release command 'okay' and she's a nice slow eater. She's energetic but not hyper for her age, she does like to jump, but she's a light jumper and quickly responds to being told 'off.' GiGi is crate trained, and she will go in her crate and lay down with the crate door open and she likes to communicate, so if she wants to be with you instead of taking a nap, she will let you know, she's most happy laying next to you on the sofa. GiGi is a typical puppy, so if you let papers around you can expect her to help you shred them, and she will counter surf, all things every puppy will need to be taught and she learns so quickly. We've car tested her and she's well on her way to being a great passenger, and we are working on her leash skills, she does pull a little, but not terribly and we feel a 'no pull harness' will resolve this issue quickly. GiGi is a slow greeter, she will growl and bark, and we have been socializing her, it takes her about fifteen minutes to warm up to someone new, but once you're in GiGi's circle, you are a friend for life and we can't stress further socialization and good positive trainer is going to be required for her successful future. She does appear to choose her doggie friends carefully, and prefers non-challenging, more mellow canine friends, she likes to be the queen, however here she has quickly learned here she had no status and was an equal in the pack, and she has asked for no young children or cats in her new home please. GiGi is a diamond in the rough, patience, training and love and you will have a 'once in a lifetime love'. (Less)

Animal ID: 2014-022Athena (female)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Athena is such a surprise! She loves to cuddle and being the center of attention, such a sweetheart and has surprised us all with her gentle and loving temperament. Like most, she is always quick to sneak a snack from the counter, the table or even your plate if you're not watching. Athena is intelligent with a slight mischievousness if left to her own devices, typical Doberman lol, she knows all her basic commands, is crate trained and a dream riding in the car. Athena is five years young, spayed and has had her wellness exam, vaccinations updated, fecal float, blood panel, is heartworm and Lyme negative, a T4 thyroid test, has been ... (Read More)micro-chipped, had her nails clipped, and started her heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, she all ready for her new life to unfold. She loves playing with her two year old furry foster sister and can't get enough of the outdoors, she likes to play with dogs that are not too hyper and know when to say enough politely, and she's asked for no cats please. Athena also has a few younger humans that she loves to play and cuddle with and will sneak a toy from the five year old to get him to chase her, which ends up with giggles and Eskimo kisses. Athena is reserved and if uncertain, she will express herself by barking. She is doing well with her manners but she will need reinforcement in her fureverhome and a positive trainer will help her new family with her adjustment period and put her on the right track for a bright future. So if you enjoy cuddling and lots of long walks, Athena might be the one for you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-20-00515Shadow (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Adult

If you like big boys you will love this big boy! Shadow is a cropped docked and neutered 5 year old male who is looking for a new home. His current owner gave him a home after his original owner passed away unexpectedly and Shadow was too big for his mom to care for. Unfortunately he does not get along with the other male doberman in the home and needs to go to a home with no other pets and no children as well due to his size. Shadow is very playful, very high energy and also very strong physically and would like to go to a home that will give him the activity he needs. He wants to be close by his owner at all times and bonds quickly ... (Read More)with men. He is also crate trained. (Less)

Kat is a 6 year old, black and tan, docked and cropped, average sized female Doberman. She has had a wellness exam, updated vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease and taking her monthly preventative, is parasite and worm free and micro-chipped.     Meet Xena...... This little girl is 18 mos old. She's a fawn with natural ears. She seems to lack self confidence and is timid meeting other dogs. She does not like cats. She is fine with children but because of her size, would do best with older children.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-23-00070Rocco (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi I'm Rocco, a three-year-old cropped and docked albino male. I came to rescue when my owner moved from Colorado and could no longer keep me because the other dogs I lived with weren't getting along with me. I was very skinny when I was turned over to rescue and also unsure of myself. I spent the summer and early fall in the kennel waiting for a forever home and I was having a hard time gaining weight there. A foster home became available in the fall and I went there. I have been there for about two months now and I am doing great! I gained twenty pounds and feel so much better. I recently saw the vet and he said I am in such good shape ... (Read More)that I am ready to find my new home. I go on long walks and play in the yard with my foster mommy. I ride well in a crate in the car, too. My foster mom knows a lot about having an albino Doberman because she had an albino female that lived to be 12. I am a typical Doberman except for my color! I would do best in a home without any other pets or young children. I love to be with people although it takes me a minute to warm up. I look to my foster mom for reassurance when someone new approaches me. We feel Rocco would make a great companion but he must go with an experienced Doberman owner. No small children and definitely no cats. If you are interested in Rocco you MUST fill out an Adoption Application. (Less)

lnteresting Doberman Pinscher Trivia Low-Cost Pennsylvania Spay & Neuter Clinics
Doberman Pinschers were first bred by a German tax collector named Louis Doberman. Dobermans are a relatively new breed dating only to the 1860s. White Dobermans share a gene with white tigers and white lions. In rare cases, Dobermans can develop Dancing Dobermans disease, a type of peripheral neuropathy.
