Rescue Me ID: 17-06-23-00202Finn (male)
Finn was surrendered by his owner who kept him chained up outside because he didn't have time for him. He is a super dog at 40 lbs who loves all people, and gets along well with dogs and cats, but will chase cats playfully if they run. He's being fostered on a farm and never leaves the property. Finn will follow your car if you leave so he's kept in the house or on the porch if people come and go. He is crate trained, house trained, and will sleep in either his crate or on a bed. He loves to ride in a car. Upon intake Finn was treated with Doxycycline for the heartworms which was diagnosed as being 'low tier'. There were no microfilia found in the bloodstream. He took Doxycycline for one month, was off one, and is currently on for one month. He's also on Advantix Multi as a preventive. He shows no signs or symptoms. No other known allergies or medical conditions Finn would do best with an active family and plenty of room to run around. We believe he would make a great agility dog. Would you open up your heart to this sweet pup who just wants to have his own family to love on? (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-07-00161Trooper (male)
Trooper is a 12 year old doberman mix. He is a very sweet old man who just wants a human to hang out with. He is neutered and heart worm negative. He recently had some dental work done and had 21 teeth removed but he still eats just fine. Trooper is limited in his vision and hearing. He enjoys long naps in his bed, but especially loves the couch if allowed. He doesn't pay any attention to his foster parents' cats but does not like another dog in his face. He would probably do best in a home with no other dogs or one other senior dog.He only wants to relax and enjoy his last few years being loved! Adoption fee is $100 Applications can be filled out at http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/dog-adoptions/ (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-20-00150James (male)
Meet James! James is, well actually no one is quite sure just what James is but one thing is for sure he is unusual and striking. He has beautiful markings and a prancing gait. He is one fun boy! James is 4 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. He is loaded with personality and energy. He is a smart cookie who has graduated from the New Leash on Life program. That is a program where dogs are matched with an inmate for 8 weeks of training. As a result, James knows all the basic dog stuff: sit, stay, come, walk on leash, house and crate trained, etc. He is well trained and ready to learn more. James loves other dogs and humans. James is a leaner and loves to be petted. He will lean harder and harder until he gets the attention that he craves. He loves to ride in the car too. He does not do well with cats. James is well on his way to being a super dog. Would you like to consider bringing him into your home and helping him achieve super dog status? Adoption Fee $150 (Less)

Atlas is a beautiful boy who hasn't met a stranger. He was found runniAtlas is a beautiful boy who hasn't met a stranger. He was found running loose in Siler City and after his owners couldn't be found, we brought him into our rescue program. Atlas is about 60lbs and absolutely loves people. Are you looking for a running buddy? If so, Atlas might be your guy. We would love to see him in a loving home that will exercise him and lavish him with the attention he deserves. He would prefer to be the only pet in his home, one where he will be spoiled and loved. While he gets along well with dogs, he does not like sharing the home. He would be an excellent companion for someone that loves the outdoors. He loves walks, rides in the car, and being with his person. Atlas is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on shots and started on heartworm prevention. Our adoption fee is $150, This includes the spay/neuter and vaccinations up to the date in which the animal is adopted. (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Doberman Pinscher is a powerful guard dog. Dobermans are protective, but are not vicious dogs; their reputation for aggression is undeserved. Doberman Pinschers that are properly trained and socialized are very gentle family companions.
