|Rescue Me ID: 16-03-26-00374Knuckles (male)|
Knuckles is a good dog and our family is in flux right now. We are moving homes, contractors are in and out and it will be this way for months. Knuckles is very protective (with his bark only) of the home. When intruders/visitors enter he assaults their hands with his head getting them to pet him. He does not jump up. We walk him off leash at the school and he comes back when called. Maybe a few times, but he comes back. If he sees another dog he doesn't bark. He just wants to come and say hi. Little dogs usually bark at him and he runs away, only to playfully come back and say hi again. If we had a fence, and not so many contractors in and out right now he'd be ok. He's great with our 14, 9, and 3 year old. He's never bit anyone, but don't tell anyone he's just a big softy. (Less)

|Animal ID: 2015-004Wrangler (male)|
Wrangler is currently in a Maryland foster home, has settled in well over the last couple of weeks and is ready to begin his search for a 'Fureverhome'. Wrangler is all-natural Doberman with perhaps a little something extra in there for extra cuteness! Wrangler is four years old, crate and potty trained and loves his humans, Wrangler is what we here at rescue call a 'Velcro' dog, he wants nothing more than to be with you everywhere you go, right by your side. Wrangler would do best in a home with no other dogs at this time, however if there is a home with experience in socializing, he may do well with a particular temperament with work and supervision. He appears to be okay with cats once he has the opportunity to meet them, he was reactive to meeting them in the crate initially, however did much better once out of the crate, his interest does appear to chase or play with them, again this would need supervision and socializing to integrate him into a home with a cat(s). Wrangler is a very lovable, happy guy, he loves cuddling with his humans and we would recommend older children, as he's still quite an energetic boy. Wrangler does know his basic commands and will go even further with positive reinforcement training and a class in Obedience, he is very treat motivated. We will be providing some follow up vetting very soon anyone interested in sponsoring Wrangler for any of his veterinary needs may do so by going to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=ZYE3P3KXJQ4TA, and all donations are tax deductible. If you are able to consider opening your heart and home to Wrangler, please go to our website and download our Adoption Application PDF, http://fureverhomesdobermanrescue.org/adoption.html or request one by sending us a PM here on our Facebook page, and you may also share an email address and we'd be most happy to email the application as well. |Animal ID: 2015-047Tank (male)|
This handsome young man is 'Tank'. Tank was found on Facebook by a rescue friend tied up in a backyard in WV and in need of a new home, unfortunately his rescuer felt her environment was not what he needed and has asked FDR to find his 'Fureverhome'. Tank is approximately 1 1/2 years old, red and tan, natural ears and docked tail. He is a sweet and sensitive boy, crate trained and housebroken, knows his basic commands, including sit, stay, down, leave it and more, he has great recall too. Tank is very curious about his environment, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has asked for no cats or young children please. Tank has been doing great with his foster family, having a blast at doggy daycare, he is very active and will need lots of exercise, a fenced in yard is required for this young man, his home should have a routine and lots of time with his humans. Tank had a wellness exam and he has been neutered, updated on vaccines, his panel was negative for Heartworm and Lyme, fecal float, dewormed and micro-chipped. His rescuer was also told that Tank was hit by a car, and has a plate an pins in his left hind leg, there is a scar, however no x-ray was done to confirm or deny the statement, he has a normal gait with no complications. If you are able to consider opening your heart and home to Tank, please visit our website at FureverhomesDobermanRescue.org and click on the Adoption tab to download our adoption application PDF for Tank or any of the many Dobermans available for adoption at FDR! Doberman Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Doberman Pinscher is a powerful guard dog. Dobermans are protective, but are not vicious dogs; their reputation for aggression is undeserved. Doberman Pinschers that are properly trained and socialized are very gentle family companions.
