Rescue Me ID: 16-10-27-00188Java (female)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Her name is Java I got her from a breeder in Walkersville MD that was a puppy mill. The house was horrid, some of the worse living conditions for both human and dogs I have ever seen. Just to give you some background on everything since day one and why we have to give her up. I brought her home, I have a wife, 3 kids, and a great dane. We wanted another dog to run around and play with our dane and I had always wanted a Doberman. So I found this one on craigslist. Went to pick her up and she was very very timid, scared, and didn't want to leave. She got in the vehicle, threw up, and pooped the whole way home. No biggie, figured it was ... (Read More)because she was scared. Took her about 2 days to open up and get close to our dane and us. I was very skeptical of her with my at the time 2yr old son. The other kids are 12 and 10. About a week later her stools were still very loose 'they had been from day one.' Took her to the vet to get checked out, she tested positive for 2 types of worms and giardia. So not only did we have to get her treated we now had to get RX for our dane since he was now exposed to her. Again no big deal. Now about 3 weeks in to having her she started to chew on rugs, furniture. Please keep in mind I spent 100.00 or so on all new toys for the both dogs. The chewing got worse, her behavior got worse, she was becoming uncontrollable. We put our dane in the Sit means sit program and knew this would have to be done with her. So 1,500.00 later she came back to us a partially changed dog, she now comes, sits, lays, stays. That lasted for about 2 weeks. Back to chewing everything in the house. We have been to two separate vets that we trust and they have prescribed her anxiety meds. Didn't really seem to help. We along with the vets believe that due to the way the breeder had been breeding she has some serious psychological issues. The vets and several people we reached out to asked if we had a fenced in area that she is so anxious because she needs to run. We have 2 acres, 1 of that is fenced in with a 6ft privacy fence. I got that finished about 2 months ago. Honestly it's gotten worse since I finished the fence. Just the other day she chewed up an extension cord, a shop vac filter, and here is the to date list of everything she has ruined that we have had to replace. We are on couch number 5, several rugs, chairs, I am at over 15,000, in replacing furniture and items throughout the house and we can't do this anymore. My wife is a stay at home mom who gives this dog more attention and care than some people give their kids and she/we cannot do it anymore. Within the last few days she has now started pooping in the house. I guess the last straw for me was this morning when I woke up I walked in the bathroom and stepped in her poop, her poop which was on a very expensive rug. She pooped twice on it. I know that no other person would have put up the money or the time we have and we just cannot do it anymore. My wife is constantly stressed out because of her, always watching her, its worse than a baby. So this is why I am reaching out to you because she needs someone special, someone who can deal with her actions. She really is an affectionate dog, always has to be laying on you, touching you, licking you. She's great with kids and a great watch dog but I cannot keep replacing furniture and putting any more money in to her. She is the single most destructive animal I have ever owned and known of. Please get back to me and let me know if you can help me. 301-401-2812 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-18-00640Bruiser (male)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Adult

Happy, handsome Bruiser is a 2.5 year old (his birthday is April 21, 2014) Doberman Mix. He is great around children, other dogs and cats. He has a LOT of energy, so when he gets bored, he likes to chew on things...even if it is not his! We are working on that ;) He is completely house broken AND crate trained. He is a lovable dog who just wants to please his owner, and he is a little submissive and shy but warms up quickly. Bruiser LOVES to be outside, but because he is a high energy dog with a bloodhound-like nose (which causes him to take off and chase the trail of the scent!), a fenced in yard to be able to run and play in is a MUST. ...
