I'll never understand it, but this 8 year old boy was adopted from us at 8 weeks and recently given up by his owner due to 'travel'. Cree now sits in a kennel awaiting his TRUE forever home. He seems to be somewhat scared of men who pass by, though he has warmed up to male volunteers, so it just takes a little time. He is quite gentle and incredibly sweet. Little kids may not be a good fit due to size. Please consider coming to meet this fine gentleman to see if he may be your new family members! Adopters must live within 50 miles of Tinley Park.

*MUST LIVE IN 50 MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (SUBURBAN CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT* Why hello there! You seem like you could be interested in a super handsome, very intelligent, active young fellow like me. I am Koby, and I am a 10-month-old, 40ish-pound black and chocolate brown Doberman mix looking for my forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation. My human friends from Fetching Tails Foundation rescued me from Chicago Animal Care and Control and I have been enjoying my time learning what 'being spoiled' means thanks to my awesome foster parents. I had a bit of a cough after being at the city shelter, so foster dad pampered me and let me relax while I got over my cold. We spent a lot of time cuddled on the couch (when I'm not sitting on my end of the couch with the armrest as a pillow, I try to squeeze onto foster dad's lap even though he says I am a little too big to be a lap dog!) Now that I am feeling so much better I have been showing off my more active, playful side. My fosters have a big yard so I can run around when I get a case of the 'zoomies.' If I were a human, I would be an awesome track-and-field athlete because I am fast and can jump high, so I would love a forever home with a tall-fenced yard so I can play, play, play! I am still young with lots of playful energy, so my ideal forever home would be with an active family that would love to take me on adventures and play a lot. I still have a little growing to do, so I hope you have space for a big boy like me! I love all people that I've met so far, and think I would do best with older children because I don't always realize my own size...I wouldn't want to accidentally knock over a little human brother or sister when we are playing. And I think it would just be the coolest thing ever if I could have a doggie brother or sister to play with. My foster mom has two big dogs, and I love playing chasing and wrestling with them every chance we get. My human friends call this a 'good outlet' for my 'young dog' energy, and since I am so busy with my dog friends, I don't get into typical puppy mischief like chewing things I'm not supposed to. I am also a smart boy (I learned VERY quickly that I can get a treat if I go outside to potty, so now I love to go in and out to the yard for my cookie!), and know what to do when my person tells me 'sit' and 'give paw.' I think it would be fun to be a scholar and go to a couple training classes with my forever family. Training is a great bonding experience for dogs and humans, and since I am still puppy-ish, my brain is a sponge and I would love to see how much else I can learn! If you want a big, funny, playful and most of all LOVING young gem, please get in touch with my Fetching Tails friends so we can meet! I can't wait to find my forever family so we can enjoy our 'happy tail' together! Love and puppy cuddles, Koby If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org or if any questions please email us at Info@fetchingtailsfoundation.org Adoption Requirements: *LIVE WITHIN 50 MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER *Be at least 21 years of age *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment Adoption Fees: Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250 (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Doberman Pinscher is a powerful guard dog. Dobermans are protective, but are not vicious dogs; their reputation for aggression is undeserved. Doberman Pinschers that are properly trained and socialized are very gentle family companions.
