Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Female, Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix, 47.6 lbs., 6 yo., fully vaccinated/not yet spayed, HW Positive. I was turned out on the streets when I became pregnant. The nice people at HART took me in and gave me a safe place to have my pups. My pups have all been adopted and now I hope it is my turn. I am somewhat fearful when I come out of my kennel. I just don't know what to expect. I am told that I am very loving and have attractive qualities. For some reason I don't have any back teeth, so it is important that my food is a mixture of soft and semi-soft food.

I own an 'out of pocket rescue' and we got in a beautiful fawn Doberman. She was locked in a chicken house for most of her life. Her previous owner got her as a puppy and decided that they could not deal with a pup, so they put her in a chicken house and there this poor girl stayed. The neighbor contacted us about the situation and the owners agreed to surrender her. Her tail is docked, but her ears are fully intact :) We had her in foster care for only 2 weeks until we were able to get her to our area. She has had hair loss due to allergies, she had hives all over her body, nails heavily overgrown, her feet were swollen and red, she ... (Read More)was very timid and shy. Now that she has been with us, her hair is growing in, she is gaining weight (needs to gain a lot more though), she is very sweet and loving! We named her Mya. We are guessing that she is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. She does good with other dogs and children. My youngest child is 10 years old and she does perfect. Mya is extremely gentle and so very sweet! She gets along good with my dogs, my smallest is 3lbs and my largest is 70lbs, Mya does great with them all. However sometimes she does forget how big she is when she is playing. She loves being on the couch and soaking up all of the attention from people. She is kind of scared of men, but warms up quickly. She loves hiking, but she does need some training on not pulling on the leash. She is just a big baby and she is so very sweet and gentle. She is completely potty trained and crate trained. She knows the command 'sit' and she is working on more commands, she is extremely smart! She will be spayed and have her rabies vaccine done before going to her new home. If you are interested in her then you must be willing to go through a meeting with her first before adopting. When you email please write giving information about yourself and the kind of home you can give her, vet references and pictures of any animals you have. We will be VERY picky on the home she goes to so the more you tell, the better and you must be willing to answer any questions. Her rehoming fee is $150. If you are a good match for her then you will be contacted back immediately and you will be sent pictures/videos. Thank you for your interest in a rescue pet! (Less)

Vera was adopted from us in 2012 as a puppy. Owner issues related to health and age led to her surrender before Christmas 2015. Needless to say, she is experiencing severe depression and spends her days watching in vain for the people she loved to return for her. Vera is a 3 1/2 year old Pinscher mix. She is housebroken, leash trained, exceptionally loving and knows basic commands. Vera weighs about 50 lbs. Arrived Dec 22. Adoption fee is $100. Rescue Me ID: 13-09-26-00353Marlene (female)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This beautifully marked girl is only about 42lbs. with a lean figure, clearly not a pure Rottie. Her tan markings are brindled with black striping, and she has a white mark on her chest that looks like a heart-shaped flower in a triangular vase; yes, I'm serious! Found running back & forth on a busy road at 10:30 at night, in dire jeopardy, we never located the owners or any posters/ads for Missing Dog matching her. She was wearing a fluorescent orange collar but had no tags or chip, and definitely had puppies in the recent past. We think she was used as a breed-mom w/very inadequate attention, as she initially acted fearful of men and was ... (Read More)much too thin. It took 2 days to catch her, but she followed us home that first night & hung around the neighborhood. The local school children dropped cheese & lunchmeat pieces for her, and that evening, she returned to them for food; only this time, allowed herself to be caught & petted! She turned out to be housetrained & crate-trained (although she can open most cage doors unless reinforced w/a clip), VERY playful & sweet-natured, and she just adores children, but we'd recommend over age 5 as she can be a little mouthy. Est. about 6yrs old now, she's been spayed, vaxed, wormed, chipped, tested heartworm-negative, on monthly HW & flea/tick preventative. No more pup factory, no more neglect! She needs a warm family w/lots of time to play w/her and exercise her. Now that she's gained some weight where her ribs & backbone no longer protrude, her glossy black coat is just gorgeous & she's the picture of health and stamina--loves to run at top speed w/other playful dogs similar in size. Mainly seems to prefer equal-dominance male dogs. Adoption donation $135 against vet bills, no checks. Leave message on VM at 678-MEOW-NAP [636-9627] or email adoptanewpet@gmail.com for further info or an application. You'll be **so** happy you brought her cheery, clever nature home!! (Less)
