Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Puppy

This is Sparky and he is a Doberman mixed puppy. We have started working on house and obedience training. We believe he is about 10-12 weeks old. He will probably be a medium sized dog due to his size now and his approximate age. He is a cuddler and very affectionate. He would make an excellent pet for most any family. If you would like to adopt Sparky, please go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com and fill out an adoption application.

Animal ID: 2015-019Sy and Papi (male)

Doberman Pinscher    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Sy and Papi are a bonded pair, and will only be adopted as a pair. Sy, is an 8 year old, Red and Tan Doberman Pinscher, who has been vetted, is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, heartworm and Lyme negative, micro-chipped, and also tested worm and parasite free as well. Sy is healthy and only has a little stiffness from time to time and has a prescription for Rimadyl when needed. He has an alpha personality, however he loves Papi, they were surrendered together on 3/23/15 to the Fulton County Animal Shelter, in Atlanta, GA, the owner was no longer able to care for them, however we feel these two sweet souls need to be in a home with ... (Read More)no other dogs, they only need you and each other. Papi, is a 3 year old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix, who has been vetted, is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, heartworm and Lyme negative, micro-chipped, and also tested worm and parasite free as well. Papi is a young, healthy male and adores Sy, his lifelong canine brother. These two boys are inseparable! Sy has always been the spokesperson for the pair while Papi tends to stay in the background following Sy's lead. Papi has come out of his shell so much since being in a foster home. While Sy gets along fabulously with Papi, we do not feel he would do well with other dogs. Both deserve to be in a home where someone cherishes them and if you are able to open your heart and your home to a rescued, bonded pair, please contact us at FureverhomesDobermanRescue@outlook.com for an adoption application. An Evaluation from our Foster: Sy and Papi are intelligent, affectionate, obedient dogs that seem to be true brothers in every sense of the word. They eat out of each others food bowls, drink simultaneously out of a single water bowl, play hard together, and rest happily together usually in very close proximity to each other. You can pet them while they eat, sit next to them while they eat, move their bowls around while they eat, and neither one of them will react in a negative way. They stand quietly and wait patiently for treats and always take food very gently from our hands. When it's time to go outside, even though they get excited, they wait patiently to have their leashes put on, and Papi will often sit, without being asked, until he's all hooked up. Both dogs know basic commands such as sit, stay, and down (but we don't ask Sy to sit because he seems uncomfortable maneuvering his body into a sitting position). Both dogs walk well on a leash, but Papi reacts to other dogs during walks. He gets agitated, vocal, and will fixate in an excited state, and he'll nip at you while he's in that state if you get too close and you're not careful. Sy seems uninterested in other dogs during a walk, but does show prey drive. He doesn't lunge at prey, but he gets alert, curious, and scents frantically. Both dogs have been cat tested at a close distance and show no signs of aggression toward cats. Both dogs enjoy going for car rides and are calm, quiet passengers in the car. Papi initially was fearful about getting out of the car, but he has since overcome that anxiety. Both dogs love to chew on Nylabones, but we keep them away from anything soft because Papi enjoys pulling stuffing out of pillows, blankets, etc. Both dogs are extremely responsive to the word 'No' and will stop whatever they're doing immediately when they hear it. They both exhibit a willingness to please and are gentle, respectful dogs. Papi is timid around new people outside and barks loudly when approached by new people in the house. He will sometimes growl if someone approaches him, but he'll stop immediately when corrected. I read that Swiss Mountain dogs are vigilant watchdogs and tend to announce visitors, so I'm wondering if this behavior could be part of his genetic code. Papi also has a tendency to mouth gently on you during playtime, but again, he responds immediately to the correction when you tell him to stop. Both dogs crave human interaction. They love to be pet and snuggled and Sy will nudge you relentlessly if you stop petting him. Sy also likes to use his nose to knock my Kindle out of my hands when he thinks I should be petting him more and reading less! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-09-26-00353Marlene (female)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This beautifully marked girl is only about 42lbs. with a lean figure, clearly not a pure Rottie. Her tan markings are brindled with black striping, and she has a white mark on her chest that looks like a heart-shaped flower in a triangular vase; yes, I'm serious! Found running back & forth on a busy road at 10:30 at night, in dire jeopardy, we never located the owners or any posters/ads for Missing Dog matching her. She was wearing a fluorescent orange collar but had no tags or chip, and definitely had puppies in the recent past. We think she was used as a breed-mom w/very inadequate attention, as she initially acted fearful of men and was ... (Read More)much too thin. It took 2 days to catch her, but she followed us home that first night & hung around the neighborhood. The local school children dropped cheese & lunchmeat pieces for her, and that evening, she returned to them for food; only this time, allowed herself to be caught & petted! She turned out to be housetrained & crate-trained (although she can open most cage doors unless reinforced w/a clip), VERY playful & sweet-natured, and she just adores children, but we'd recommend over age 5 as she can be a little mouthy. Est. about 6yrs old now, she's been spayed, vaxed, wormed, chipped, tested heartworm-negative, on monthly HW & flea/tick preventative. No more pup factory, no more neglect! She needs a warm family w/lots of time to play w/her and exercise her. Now that she's gained some weight where her ribs & backbone no longer protrude, her glossy black coat is just gorgeous & she's the picture of health and stamina--loves to run at top speed w/other playful dogs similar in size. Mainly seems to prefer equal-dominance male dogs. Adoption donation $135 against vet bills, no checks. Leave message on VM at 678-MEOW-NAP [636-9627] or email adoptanewpet@gmail.com for further info or an application. You'll be **so** happy you brought her cheery, clever nature home!! (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Doberman Pinscher is a powerful guard dog. Dobermans are protective, but are not vicious dogs; their reputation for aggression is undeserved. Doberman Pinschers that are properly trained and socialized are very gentle family companions.

Doberman Pinschers were first bred by a German tax collector named Louis Doberman. Dobermans are a relatively new breed dating only to the 1860s. Dobermans cannot work in areas where it gets very cold in the winter. White Dobermans share a gene with white tigers and white lions.
