Rescue Me ID: 16-01-31-00463Brody (male)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Brody is a special dude who needs a special home. He is most likely a doberman mix. He is around a year old, and 50 to 60 pounds. He had a very rough start in life, and needs a patient, understanding home that uses positive training techniques only! No harsh corrections whatsoever. He desperately wants to please, and is working on not being afraid when his name is called, or he thinks he is in trouble. Clicker training and treats are working on this. He is fairly good on leash, house trained after an initial marking period. He must go to a home with another friendly, confident dog to show him the ropes, and how to be a dog! No kids under 14. ... (Read More)He is scared of sporadic movement, fast movement, and loud noises that children tend to make! He has not been tested with cats. He LOVES affection, like finally seeking it, a lot! He can be shy, but warms up. He is crate trained, but does get anxiety when his foster family leaves for work. He is kenneled right next to his foster brother and that helps. No blankets or bed in the kennel while gone, he will destroy them! :)He does do okay with a blanket in his kennel at night...it will survive the night! He loves to play ball! He has so much potential with the right family! Our adoption process consists of application, with references and home visit and a meet and greet. Doberman Pinscher    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ranger is right around 1 year old. He is an active dude who needs an active family. He loves to run around the yard, but would also love to hike, take long walks (on the beach no necessary!) and would love to learn how to run beside you. He gets along with the child in his foster home, as well as two other resident dogs. It's been said in the past that he gets along with cats, but we have not cat tested him. He is crate trained and potty trained, but on occasion likes to use the concrete instead of grass! He does enjoy barking, but his foster mom is working with him on that. His shots are UTD, Heartworm negative, microchipped 981020013883960 and taking Heartgard heartworm preventative and Bravecto flea/tick preventative. Paul seems afraid at first, but as soon as you sit down with him, he crawls into your lap and wants hugs and pets! He walks well on leash. He would do better in a home with children 10 years and older. Is still young enough to be trained. Does fine with other dogs his size. He was in a foster home while waiting in Texas with John and Ringo. All 3 dogs came to the ADP together but are not bonded and can be adopted ... (Read More)separately. Rescue Me ID: 16-01-21-00559Missy (male)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Introducing Missy...the sweet girl who was rescued from a Houston shelter after being identified with a great (and blossoming) personality. Farfel's is very excited to have Missy join our rescue and we have started our search for a great family for this majestic girl with the incredible brindle coat. Missy looks like a bit heavier Greyhound...so stately.. but must have some Terrier in her breed to end up with the more substantial build and the really cute ears. She's the perfect size to snuggle on the sofa (as you can see in her foster photo). Missy loves belly rubs and gives the sweetest kisses. She's happy to load up in the car for a fun ... (Read More)outing and long hike through the mountains. As is often the case with rescue dogs, Missy had a challenging life prior to her scheduled transport to Boulder. She's a sensitive being and the shelter terrified her to the point that she was transferred into a very loving foster home to nurture her back to trust and love of life. With this patience and understanding, Missy is learning successfully to trust people again. She is initially careful before she allows her heart to open and feel confident that a person will show her kindness. Once Missy feels the love, she is incredibly affectionate and cuddly. Missy is being fostered by a family with dogs and children. Her foster mom and the shelter had the following to say about sweet Missy: Missy is a wonderful girl. She walks gently on a loose leash, will sit for a treat and will sometimes even shake! She is the ultimate cuddle-bug! She has blossomed a lot socially in greeting new people since I've taken her home. She will lay down in her kennel if I leave the door open, and has recently found a liking to sleeping in the bed/or on the couch with us. She has interacted really nicely with my children, ages 11mos/3y/6y, and takes treats gently from them. She's an equal-opportunity lover and enjoys her relationships with both large and small dogs. Missy has an extremely calm demeanor that speaks very clearly of the Greyhound personality. Missy is completely house-trained and kennel-trained (she's a very clean dog!). She's a gift to the family that has patience and loves the Greyhound-type temperament...and her incredible brindle coat! Missy would benefit from positive reinforcement training that every dog needs to be a positive member of a family. We have found that Missy loves to learn and please! She is very treat motivated and will be easy to train if her family continues to provide her with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement. The payoff for the lucky adopter of this dog will be immense. At day's end, Missy is a young dog who can be taught (through love, nurturing and clear boundaries) that the world is a positive place and that the human touch is a loving one. She will be a super-cuddler, thrilled couch dog and ultimately a devoted and loyal best friend. Missy will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 1/29/16. If interested in this sweet, very calm and devoted companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament

Tyrion is clearly mostly Red Doberman but his legs say 'low rider'. We think he is blended with a Bassett or corgi or even a dachshund. Or even possibly is a Doberman with Dwarfism. Tyrion is around a year old, smart, loving and FUN! He loves playing but can get a little overzealous with his male foster brother and needs appropriate correction from his play partners. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ringo is a 3 year old sweetie. He is potty trained, and very sweet. He is scared and timid, and most likely came from a rough background. Even with that, he still loves people. He is still working on putting on a few pounds, as he came to us quite underweight. He's slow to warm up but quickly becomes your shadow. He loves playing ball, and is good with dogs. He is shy around kids and men. He'd prefer a home with no kids, or older calm children only who won't be too loud or rough with him. He is fairly good on leash, and great at car rides! Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)

Hemi is a 4 year old cropped & docked 'every color' dobie. His head is blueish fawn and his ultra-fashionable ombr̩ hair coloring changes at the top of the neck to a beautiful coat that includes black, red, blue & fawn... Truly a work of art! Hemi is an old soul. He loves to play tug & wrestle-mania with his foster sister, but his FAVORITE thing is cuddling on the couch with her or his people. Hemi is currently taking medication for anxiety and will need a very gradual transition into his new home (Denver-based applicants only, please). He has a pretty intense hunting obsession which can interrupt walks or car rides if a critter scurries ...     Cairo aka Chomper is a 1.5 year old fawn doberman reserved sweetheart. He has recently discovered the joys of cuddling and can't get enough of it. He is okay with other large, confident dogs, but not small dogs, or dogs who can't hold their own. He's still working on the concept of playing, but he is definitely making progress! Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Uma is a beautiful blue doberman about 4 years old. This is what Uma's foster Mom has to say about her! What can I say about Uma? Besides being the most beautiful blue Dobie you have ever seen, she is super sweet, calm and gives excellent kisses. Uma loves other dogs (big and small) as long as they aren't rude, bossy, or aggressive. She is decent with cats that won't run from her but a little too intense if they are runners. Uma is potty trained, spayed, microchipped, and utd on shots. She is estimated to be 4 years old. Uma came from a pretty terrible neglect situation and was barely alive when she was found. Because of her scary past, she ... (Read More)takes a little bit to warm up to you and will most likely bond intensely with only one person. She is much more comfortable around women and takes longer to warm up to men (but can). She is not aggressive at all, but more shy and reserved, however, I would not recommend a home with children because she does spook with loud noises and new things. Despite growing up in horrible conditions, Uma is SUPER sweet and loving when she picks her person. Uma loves her bed (and needs it to be her special, private place), belly rubs, treats, and playing with her foster siblings. He is curious about the feline persuasion and we are working on controlled interactions! He knows basic obedience commands and likes to go on strolls. He does well on the leash and at feeding times he waits patiently and is a firm believer in 'ladies first'! His favorite pastime is wriggling under your feet and getting comfy and then chewing on his bones! He would be an amazing silent partner to anyone's family 'business'! Our adoption process consists of application, with references and home ... (Read More)visit and a meet and greet. Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Artie was found on the streets of Houston, TX. with his brother Thad. They were both were terrified and hungry. A very sweet woman brought them to the shelter in Texas, but due to the condition of their skin the shelter did not believe they could handle it, so they put both pups on the pre-euth list. When we saw their sweet faces we knew we had to get them out of the shelter and into a safe place. These brothers have now been in foster care for a couple weeks and are happier and healthier than ever. They are on their way to CO to find their forever homes! Since they have been in their foster home, they have become little social ... (Read More)butterflies! We believe they will be medium size dogs, around 20-30lbs. Right now they are 10 weeks old and weigh 4lbs. You would never guess that they came from such a poor situation. Here is what their foster mom has to say about them: 'Artie is the boss, and Thad is the snuggler. Artie makes sure his brother is behaving, but they both love nothing more than to snuggle on your lap! They are the best foster pups we have ever taken care of, they sleep all through the night, we even have to wake them in the morning for breakfast! They are still learning their manners, potty training etc, but they are very clever so I don't think it will take them long! They are still exploring the world with their mouths, so they like to nibble on your fingers. They have both sick when we got them, but now are recovering well, and have discovered a love for all things peanut butter! (We hide their medication in it!).' These pups have so much love to give and want nothing but a family of their own to give it to. They truly deserve to know what unconditional love can feel like. Since they are such great pups, we believe they would do great in any type of family (kids, other dogs, or cats are fine). Doberman Pinscher    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jacqueline is brand new to our rescue. She is estimated to be an older adult and was a former breeder. She is reported to be good with other dogs. She needs some help with the poor toenails, and also needs some help with her coat. Her foster reports that Jacqueline is the perfect house dog! She can be left out all day and night and is not destructive. She is potty trained and will whine to let you know when she needs to go outside. Jacqueline is content playing fetch (she will bring back the toy and set it in your lap) or chewing on a bone. Jacqueline is happy to play with humans but ignores the other dog in the foster home and prefers not ... (Read More)to engage with her. She would do best on a home with other somewhat mellow housemates. Or at least ones that respect boundaries. Unsure how she is with cats but doesn't show a big prey drive. We don't know how she is with children, but if she is okay with them, we imagine she would go to a home with older calm children. Jacqueline needs work walking on a leash as she barks at anyone or anything that crosses her path. She also shows that protection mode by barking at anyone she sees out the window or front door. She also isn't your typical Doberman as she doesn't lean into you or demand to be touched at all times. She does however love to lay her head on your lap, couch, anything that is level to her head smile emoticon Our adoption process consists of application, with references and home visit and a meet and greet.     Everybody meet Cougar. If only he could talk, he probably tell you a very sad story. Cougar is a 10yr old altered 75lb male that found himself at a shelter in Colorado after his owner died. He has spent his entire life living outside. The Vet thinks he may have had more than one trauma in his lifetime. He has an old injured right back leg. He will walk on it and even jogs on it, but for the most part keeps it off the ground when he is not in movement. It has a lot of scars on it. The Vet also thinks he has had some trauma to his head as well. One of his eyes is sunken in a bit and has a "v" shape to his skull. It just adds to his ... (Read More)character and sweetness. Even after all that has happened to him, he is the biggest love bug. He loves to be loved. He will just follow you around or sit/lay at your feet. He doesn't like you out of his sight. He is also crate trained and potty trained. He is good with kids, but would prefer older less rambunctious ones! He has been olay with 2 female dogs after very slow introductions, but would be best as an only dog home. Absolutely no cats. Ironically, Cougar's mission in life is to rid the world of cats! This sweet boy needs a home and a couch to retire on. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Please contact hookedondobies@gmail.com for more information. (Less)

Bless is a 2-3 year old pure bred Blue female Doberman that arrived to Denver Animal Shelter as a stray. From her paperwork it seems to show that an owner was reached but they chose not to come reclaim her. Bless is such a sweet and playful dog. She is good with men, women, and children. However she doesn't seem to appreciate strangers, especially men to lean over her. She is good with dogs smaller than her and after a proper introduction, large or giant dogs as well. She's actually just intimidated if they are too close, corner her or lean over her. But she is currently fostered with a Saint Bernard that after only a few days she started ... (Read More)playing with. Bless is also good with cats, a little unsure and follows them around but then is fine. Again, after a few days, she's settled right into her foster home without issue. Bless is crate trained and appears mostly potty trained. She's had one accident in her first week in rescue and we suspect that she doesn't know to 'ask' and just follows the other dogs outside. Bless has been fostered with 6 foot fencing so we don't know how she'd do with shorter fencing, if she could jump it. She loves to cuddle, play and go for walks though she needs some work with pulling with an Easy Walk or other front loading harness. Bless is sensitive to her back right leg when extended or when her right side is touched so we currently have her on Previcox. Our vet doesn't yet suspect hip dysplasia or if she does have some it's very mild. Bless's adoption fee is $350 which includes her spay, microchip, deworming, vaccinations and a 6 week training course at an approved facility or private in home session with the Director who is a Certified Dog Trainer. He's a sweet soul who is discovering his love for tennis balls, couches, love, and just about everything else! He is working on gaining some weight, and will soon be neutered and vaccinated. He is housebroken. Eros is a bit timid at first, but when he warms up his playful puppy side comes out. So far he has been good with most other dogs, and seems to enjoy playing with them.     Sarge is a red male adult Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He is great boy who was living in the country in Kansas, not a roof over his head. He had previously been evaluated and thought to be blind with tremors...we have seen none of that, and he sees great. He MAY be a bit hard of hearing, but it doesn't slow him down at all! He is great in the house, and is generally good with other animals. He is good with adults and kids, as well. Sarge does want to get out of yards when left unattended, and will dig to 'freedom' but doesn't dig when supervised. He is super mellow and sleeps a lot (of course on a bed or the couch). ... (Read More)He loves his humans, but can be jumpy when around fast moving kids. He gets along with kids and has been around large groups of kids and does great. He's never been tested around babies or toddlers. He does great around his foster sibling, but he tends to be aggressive towards dogs and needs time to get used to them. If introduced slowly and given time, he does fine. He loves cats, but if they run he will chase them. He's pretty good on a leash, but will try to pull if he is allowed to. He knows many commands and is very smart. All our animals are UTD, Sterilized, tested for Heartworm, on preventative and microchipped prior to adoption.
