|Rescue Me ID: 14-07-08-00193Brigetta (female)|
Brigitta is a 3yr. old blue docked and cropped female Doberman that was surrendered to DRNM from a bad situation. She had a litter of 15 puppies (9 DOA) after being transferred from a flea market to a well meaning person that did not "mean" for her to get pregnant. She rejected her remaining puppies (currently under the care of DRNM) and has been living in a shed. Brigitta is moving to foster care in Colorado on July 5th and will be spayed, microchipped, brought up-to-date on shots and heartworm checked. She is something of a dream-dog already. Very sweet - gets along well with other dogs, she is pretty and attentive and wants to be loved and follow you everywhere. Her coat is in terrible condition and that may partly be because she is a Blue. Blue and fawn dobermans often have alopoetia (balding) and we will likely have her thyroid tested as well. If she need thyroid medication, it will be life-long though inexpensive. If interested in Brigitta, please fill out an on-line application at www.dobermanrescuenm.org under On-lin Forms. Home visit, Adoption Contract and $300 adoption donation apply. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-05-27-00784Lisel (Adopt Pending) (female)|
Adoptable Liesl- Liesl is a young adult girl looking for a stable, loving home! She was introduced to the good life (indoor living) after clearly never having been inside before. It is growing on her! She is a quiet girl, on the petite size - about 55lbs., but could stand to gain five to ten lbs. She is the gentlest soul. She adores the quiet attention of humans, but also does well in her very busy foster home. Liesl gets along well with the male and female large young dogs in her foster home, though would probably prefer a more mature housemate. She is overly interested in the cat in her foster home, so a forever home without felines would be good. Small dogs are unknown. She learned to potty outside within days of coming inside, and doesn't touch anything that isn't hers. No need to crate when alone...she sticks to her bed! She is still a bit unsure of herself and her new surroundings, but once she trusts you (which doesn't take long with calm, loving attention) she seeks out patting and is typical Velcro. Liesl will need a help blossoming even more, and learning that there is more to life than making babies in the backyard! She is fostered in Denver, Colorado, and would love to meet you! (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Doberman Pinscher is a powerful guard dog. Dobermans are protective, but are not vicious dogs; their reputation for aggression is undeserved. Doberman Pinschers that are properly trained and socialized are very gentle family companions.
